This COVID is annoying, but there are some great things happening in response.

Cheaper flights, people focusing on health, and a shift to letting people work from home.  It was once said, "The greatest defense is a great offense." so what can you do to stay COVID free, other than bathing in hand sanitizer on the regular?

Here are 4 great tips to boost your immune system.

1) Laugh -  Do you notice how you feel better after a great laugh session? You're not kidding yourself, studies from the Mayo Clinic show that on a short-term basis, laughter "fires up and then cools down your stress response, and it can increase and then decrease your heart rate and blood pressure." Long term effects include reducing stress, relieving pain and improving your immune system, so pop on Netflix, or check out Laughter Yoga on YouTube!

2) Practice Gratitude - According to Robert A. Emmons, professor of psychology at UC Davis, "Clinical trials indicate that the practice of gratitude can have dramatic and lasting effects in a person’s life. It can lower blood pressure, improve immune function and facilitate more efficient sleep.” In addition, Emmons shared that "people who keep a gratitude journal have a reduced dietary fat intake — as much as 25 percent lower. Stress hormones like cortisol are 23 percent lower in grateful people. And having a daily gratitude practice could actually reduce the effects of aging on the brain." So if you want to live forever and look delicious, it's time to whip out a pen and paper.

3) Meditate - Our brain is the best defense!  Studies show keeping your vibration high can help you avoid getting sick, causes your body to react quicker and more effectively and helps increase your helper cells to limit the effects of long term illnesses.

4) Drink the booch - Kombucha is a drink full of antioxidants and probiotics, which is great for our gut health. Like other fermented foods, the good bacteria support you in having a healthy gut.  It's been reported that having an unhealthy gut can be linked to fatigue, mental health, skin irritation and more.
