3 Easy Tips to Jumpstart Your Life - PleaseNotes

We all know that life can get boring.  You've done all the things that you were told you had to do to be "happy", however, there's this little itch that you're missing something.  It doesn't make sense logically, so what are you supposed to do?

You definitely have a case of the "Supposed-to-blues."

For some people it's living out a calling like volunteering over seas, performing on stage, or being a full-time parent. When you start thinking about doing it, something happens that stops you in your tracks.

This voice pops in.

"I can't do that, I'm too ________" or " "That will never happen, I don't have enough ______"

Sound familiar?

If you made a list of all the reasons you're unable to do something, take a look at the common denominator. Henry Ford famously said, "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right."

If you're ready to break that cycle and do something different, you're going to love these 3 tips.

1) Write it.  -  Set a 10-minute timer and ask yourself the question, "What do I want?".  Write out all the thoughts, actions, and emotions and don't allow yourself to edit, judge or change anything on the page. After the 10 minutes is up, go over the page and notice which ones have the biggest emotional charges for you.  This is where we start creating your vision.  This where you write out in full detail all the things you want to create in your life, in as much detail as possible.  The time frame can be 10 years out, 2 years out, even 3 months from now. Do what you feel is best, and then do the other time frames. Write in something you'll recognize and keep, like a journal or notebook.

2) Plan it. -  Break down your vision into bullet points and place them in 4 quadrants - Spiritual Connection, Emotional Connection, Liberty, and Physical Health. Choose one that you can easily make a difference in a set a goal around it. Don't get overwhelmed attempting to do everything, once things start moving in one area of your life, the other pieces start to shift too.

3) Move it. - Change can be difficult. Once you've started off, how do you keep the inertia going? The key is systems, and you want to have an interpersonal one, an internal one and external one. For the interpersonal one, you can join a club, Facebook group or flood your social media with real people doing what you want to do. For internal, create an affirmation and say it to yourself in the mirror with feeling a minimum of 2x a day. For the external, surround yourself with positive messaging and reminders.
